Amanda grew up in Southern California, and has always been involved in the arts. From a very young age she started dance classes at a local studio, moving into competition dancing and then eventually attending the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. It was at LACHSA that she discovered he love for singing through musical theater. After high school Amanda went on to Musician’s institute in Hollywood, California where she received an associates degree in vocal performance. Throughout her upbringing she worked on many projects including commercials and live projects and theater. Credits include MTV’s “Old Skool”, Mattel’s “American Girl Revue”, several PSA’s, Walt Disney Parks and resorts “A Christmas Fantasy” and “Disney Jr. Live Onstage”, and Carnival Cruise Lines “Rockband 2.0”.
Born and raised in Temecula, California, Brennen Meeks has been playing music his whole life. He started playing drums and piano at the age of 5, but after picking up a guitar at the age of 12 he has yet to put it down.
After winning local guitar and talent competitions, performing, and teaching in local music shop, Riff’s Music, Brennen took his talents to Hollywood where he graduated from Musicians Institute. His hard work paid off and he was awarded the “Kevin Hernandez Guitar Memorial Scholarship” and the “Outstanding Student of the Year Award”. After graduating, he was also given the opportunity to teach there while he made a name for himself as lead guitarist for various styles of Hollywood-based acts such as The Jimmy McConnell Big Band, Jazz Rebirth, WIll and the Wont’s, Joshua Paige, Malin Bylund, and even YouTube pop sensation, Rebecca Black.
Recently, Brennen has worked and performed for Carnival Cruise Lines as guitarist and Music Director, where he was featured in the live bands and also in two new Playlist productions, “Epic Rock” and “Latin Nights”. Brennen now offers private guitar instruction in the Temecula area to all ages, levels, and styles. Brennen has been teaching professionally for over 10 years and prepares a unique lesson tailored to each students individual goals and skill level.
Brennen and Amanda met while attending Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, California. After separately joining a touring country band, they found an instant connection both musically and otherwise, and were engaged only a few months later.
Shortly after graduation, Brennen and Amanda auditioned and hired into Carnival Cruise Lines where they were handpicked to be the face of its new 2.0 Rock Band format for the inaugural Sunshine. They performed nightly for Carnival for two years, sailing to 22 different countries and experiencing the Mediterranean, Pacific, and Caribbean.
In January 2015, they married and located to Brennen’s home town of Temecula, California. And its here in Southern California’s wine country that you can find the acoustic duo performing at venues in Temecula, Murrieta, and surrounding areas.
